Repeated ornament should feel like a deck. One card has narrowed possibilities; the others are still unknown.
D · Dark center was added on 2026-09-08 for the tester’s remark that “the card backs all have a very bright central option … maybe some players prefer a dark background.” It is a specimen, not a proposal: shipping it would be a per-player setting, and whether the possibility pips and ranks stay readable on a dark field is the deferred contrast question.
Our starting point: A · Midnight. The deep ink edge makes the cream information field feel intentional, and the restrained firework engraving belongs to this game. B is softer and more traditional; C is more graphic. At small sizes, broad shapes survive while the finest decorative lines drop away.
